LiveABLE Future Initiative (LiveABLE Ethiopia) is a national not-for-profit and non-governmental; secular organization officially registered by the Ethiopian Authority for Civil Society Organizations with a registry number 7333 in accordance with the Proclamation No. 1113/2019.
Our programmatic framework is centered on the principle of "creating a live-able future" for the community to be economically empowered, socially just, and environmentally resilient. The LiveABLE strategic initiatives encompass a broad spectrum, including agriculture and environment (AE), education, health and nutrition (HN), and emergency response (ER). Additionally, we prioritize youth and women's empowerment as cross-cutting priority together with climate action, humanitarian response, and sustainable livelihoods.
A live-able world where people decently and safely live.
To make the world a better place for all, specifically for those in need and vulnerable through sustainable farming and environmental stewardship, access to quality education and healthcare, and humanitarian assistance.
We have identified four key values or principles that guide our work: Advanceable, Beneficial, Local, and Equitable (ABLE – from the name).
1
At LiveABLE Ethiopia, we believe agriculture and the environment (AE) are inseparable. We work to cultivate healthy ecosystems that support sustainable farming practices, fostering a thriving balance between people and the environment
2
Education at LiveABLE Ethiopia is more than just imparting knowledge; it's a transformative journey towards empowering individuals and communities. We believe that education is a fundamental human right and a catalyst for social and economic development.
3
Health and nutrition are at the core of LiveABLE Ethiopia’s mission to improve the quality of life for vulnerable communities. LiveABLE believes that good health is essential for individuals to reach their full potential and contribute to the development of their communities.
4
At LiveABLE Ethiopia, emergency response means a commitment to being a first responder and a steadfast partner in times of crisis. LiveABLE is dedicated to saving lives, alleviating suffering, and building resilience within communities affected by disasters, conflicts, or other emergencies.
In Ethiopia, women's primary employment sector is agriculture, with over half (54.6%) working in this field. All our projects will be designed to be gender-centered, with a specific focus on empowering women economically. We will concentrate on supporting women-specific livelihood systems, entrepreneurships, and rural credits and savings opportunities.
To contribute to global and national climate action, we will focus on program strategies focused on climate-smart agriculture, multi-dimensional agroforestry systems, and conservation and regenerative agriculture. At LiveABLE Ethiopia, all our programs and projects will be implemented in strict adherence to international and national environmental impact regulations and standards.
